Ok, so my Mazda 3 came with Dunlop SP Sport 5000 P215/45R18s and those tires get lots of hate from Mazda owners. I would rate them average on ride, noise and dry pavement. Not so great in heavy rain and light snow. Was looking for a replacement tire. Since the Dunlops were $250+ each I looked at some alternatives. The General G-Max AS-05 and Toyo PXAS seemed like good options. Discovered the Starfire tire in my search and based on reviews they seemed to be a quality tire (at a cost of less than half the Dunlops). So far they seem at least the equivalent of the OEM Dunlops with better wet traction and about the same observed MPG. Hopefully better in snow... but will have to wait for that test.Just some history on the Starfire band. It is manufactured by Cooper tires (which was acquired by Goodyear in 2021). The tires I received have a good manufacture date of 2622 (week/year - about 2 months old).I was however disappointed to see they were manufactured in China and why I deducted a star.Don’t have many miles yet so can’t really judge that but the tires look great and ride nice. All I know is I needed 2 new tires and these sure looked nice in the photos and at $94 ea. I got them, 2 days on my doorstep and they looked even nicer in front of me, installed they look great, to top it off they ride very smooth (smoother than the previous Michelin’s handling well where the previous tires would squeal a little around certain turns these don’t not even at 1.5 times the speed they SEEM to have a little bit wider tread to road contact than the others like all 9.2” are on the road without sloping up another thing I noticed was they stay clean for some reason while the back 2 tend to get dustier and the starfires look new without washing them ha idk whatever I know what’s going on the rear here shortly :)I will always use this brand and type of tire if available in the size I need. Great value and well built. The value of these tires at this price is incredible. Starfire is a known brand that I'd made by Cooper. I did my research and this was the cheapest name brand tire I could find. The tread is deep and they look good on my car. You cannot tell at all that they are a cheap tire, I've had significantly more expensive tires (including michelins) and you cannot tell the difference. I've had no issues in the rain on the highway. At $80 a tire these are a helluva deal.Much quieter than the junk cooper tires that were on the car when I got it. Handle good, hydroplaining is at a minimum, durability is yet to be determined, have 3000 miles on them and have no issues with wear or air loss. For a cheap tire definatly worth the money. Will be replacing the rear tires on this car with these alsoGreat looking tires! The tire is good it works great there was one problem the problem is that it was not delivered on time never tell people the delivery time and date when you can't even deliver it for time it's expected for I don't like that it was delivered late its a good tire bit bad customer service
